Who’s Involved

Read on for a quick introduction to the community groups and projects, and to find details of the project team and partners. If you’d like more information or want to get involved please get in touch.
Community Groups
Community House
Community House will be our central base for holding visuals, collecting information and references, displaying work done to date for feedback, and meeting with the Stanwell community. Mandie Wilde also runs a drop in surgery for the general community so feedback can also be done through her.

Town Farm Primary School
Animal Mural
We will be helping students create a mural for the school of the different animals you can find in Stanwell. Years 1, 2 and 3 will be making the wooden animals and Year 6 will paint the background mural where they live. The animals will then be hung on the mural and can be moved about. A section of this mural will also be used as a Tombola at the annual Stanwell Fair on the 26th May.

Women’s Institute
Stanwell Women’s Institute functions at the heart of the community and is celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2009. Aside from their close ties with several community projects, many WI members have a wealth of knowledge about life in Stanwell over the years, which they will share with the pupils from Town Farm Primary School.

Fairways Day Services
Fairways Day Services help adults with learning difficulties cope with a variety of life skills. As part of the Stanwell Project we’ll be running workshops with the users of Fairways services to explore the creative process in a fun way. The workshops will result in a hand decorated remote controlled car for each individual that will be driven around Stanwell and documented.

We’ll be running workshops including mobile film and editing techniques (with Demo Pod), drawing workshops and other workshops delivered at the Stanwell Youth Centre. We will also provide a couple of trips around popular local activities (eg fishing).
